Where Garmin puts the model number
| Product type | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Watches & Fitness Trackers | The model is in the watch settings under About or System. The back case also has fine print with the model code. |
| Car Electronics & EV Charging | Look on the back or underside of the unit. EV chargers have a rating plate on the side of the enclosure that lists model, voltage and amperage. |
| Marine & Outdoor | Outboards carry a plate on the transom bracket. Generators and power stations put it on the side panel. |
Getting the official Garmin manual
Garmin publishes product documentation on support.garmin.com. Search there with the full model number from the label, then look for a documents, manuals or downloads section on the product page.
If your model isn't listed, try removing the last few characters, which usually only indicate color or region. For discontinued models, look for an archive or legacy products section, or contact Garmin support directly.
