Force restart a frozen iPhone 15
If the screen is frozen or black but the phone isn't dead, a force restart usually brings it back. Nothing is erased. The button order matters and each press is quick.
- Press and quickly release the volume up button.
- Press and quickly release the volume down button.
- Press and hold the side button.
- Keep holding until the Apple logo appears, then let go. It can take 10 seconds or more.
Erase everything before selling
Back up to iCloud or a computer first. Then go to Settings, General, Transfer or Reset iPhone, and choose Erase All Content and Settings. You'll be asked for your passcode and Apple Account password so Activation Lock can be turned off.
Charging and cable
The iPhone 15 uses USB-C. Any good USB-C cable works, and it supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging. For fast charging, use a USB Power Delivery charger of 20W or more.

Go to Settings, General, About. The Model Number line shows a part number first. Tap it once and it switches to the A number (for example A3090), which identifies the exact regional model.

What does the Action button do?
The Action button is on iPhone 15 Pro models, not on iPhone 15. The iPhone 15 keeps the Ring/Silent switch.
