Reset the doorbell
Resetting clears the Wi-Fi settings. Do it when changing routers or when setup fails.
- Remove the doorbell from its mounting bracket.
- Find the orange setup button on the back.
- Press and hold it for about 15 to 20 seconds.
- Release. The light on the front flashes while it resets.
- Set it up again in the Ring app.
Wiring to an existing doorbell
This doorbell can run on its battery or trickle charge from existing doorbell wires. Ring lists a transformer range of 8 to 24 VAC for this model. Lower voltages, or DC transformers, won't work properly. Turn off power at the breaker before connecting the two wires to the terminal screws on the back.

The Ring app shows the device model under Device Health. The back of the doorbell has the model and MAC ID on a sticker.

Does it work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
This model connects to 2.4 GHz networks. If your router combines bands under one name, it will usually still connect.
Will my old doorbell chime still ring?
With a wired installation, a mechanical chime can still ring. Digital chimes may need a diode, which Ring includes in some boxes.
